Pyrophyllite Powder

What is Pyrophyllite?

Pyrophyllite is a naturally occurring Hydrated Aluminium Silicate mineral with the chemical formula Al₂Si₄O₁₀(OH)₂. Belonging to the phyllosilicate mineral group, it is known for its high whiteness, excellent thermal stability, low thermal expansion, fine particle size, and superior chemical inertness. While Pyrophyllite closely resembles Talc in terms of softness and physical appearance, it differs chemically as it contains alumina (Al₂O₃) instead of magnesium oxide (MgO). The raw mineral typically ranges in color from pale green to light yellow, while the processed powder appears bright white.

As a versatile non-metallic industrial mineral, Pyrophyllite is widely used as a functional filler and performance-enhancing additive across numerous industries. It offers excellent dimensional stability, workability, heat resistance, and cost-effectiveness, making it a preferred alternative to minerals such as talc, kaolin, and silica in many applications. Its outstanding physical and chemical properties contribute to improved product performance, enhanced processing efficiency, and long-term reliability in demanding industrial environments.
